The daily hire rate includes the following:
- Unlimited kilometres
- Vehicle insurance (excess applies)
- 12.5% GST
- Airport transfers on pick-up and drop-off (except Wellington)
- Kitchen Kit (e.g. plates, bowls, cups, pots etc)
- 24 hour nationwide roadservice helpline
- Travel wallet including road maps and travel information
- Free Mountain Bike Hire at selected Top Ten Holiday Parks
The daily hire rates are:
- Calculated on a per calendar day basis
- Quoted in New Zealand Dollars
- Subject to change without notice
- Subject to a minimum rental period 5 days (increases to 10 days between 23 December 2006 and 10 January 2007)
- Subject to the Britz 2009/2010 Terms and Conditions.
All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a third party. For motorhomes the hirer is responsible for the first NZ$5,000.00 ('the excess') of the cost of the damage to the third party property or rented vehicle. This excess can be reduced by the purchase of Excess reduction option 1 or 2.

In addition to the actual hire of the motorhome itself, there are several other important items that you will need to purchase that are not included in the daily hire rates. By purchasing the "Britz Bonus Pack" you will save money on some of these items.
The Inclusive component of NZ$52.50 per day (maximum NZ$2,625) is payable in addition to the daily hire rate. Included in this package is the following:
- Excess Reduction Option 2 - Normally priced at NZ$35.00 per day
- PCO (Premium Cover Option)
- Diesel Tax Recovery fee - The Diesel Tax Recovery Fee is normally calculated and collected on the return of your vehicle and is based on the kilometres travelled during your hire.
The vehicle rates per 100km are as follows:
HiTop: Nil
Elite: NZ$3.20
Explorer: NZ$3.40
Frontier: NZ$3.70
- 1 x Table - Normally priced at NZ$22.00 per table.
- 2 x Chairs - Normally priced at NZ$12.00 per chair, per rental.
- 1 x Child / Booster seat - Normally priced at NZ$25.00 per seat, per rental. This must be pre-booked.
- PGO (pre-purchase gas option) - This value added option allows the hirer to buy their first tank of LPG at a discounted rate, thereby avoiding the need to replenish the gas bottle prior to drop-off.
Depending on the size of the vehicle, you will save between NZ$15.00 and NZ$25.00 by purchasing the "All Inclusive rates."
- 1x Personal Kit per person - Normally priced at NZ$35.00 per person per rental (Included in this pack are 1 of each of the following: towel, pillow, pillow case, sleeping bag, bed sheet, and tea towel).

- Wellington and Queenstown Location Fees
It is strongly advised that you pre-book all of the following items for hire. Experience NZ Travel requires that you pay the cost for these items directly to Britz Rentals on collection of your vehicle.
- Picnic Table - NZ$22.00 per rental
- Picnic Chairs - NZ$12.00 per seat, per rental
- Child / Booster Seat - NZ$25.00 per seat, per rental. In New Zealand all children under the age of 5 years old must travel in a child restraint. The baby seats are mostly universal whereby they are for infants to toddlers depending on their weight and size. The seat is placed on the rear seat facing forward.
- Tent (4 persons) - NZ$75.00 per rental
- Camping Kit - NZ$20.00 per day, maximum charge NZ$200.00 for 2 persons (subject to changes). Includes tent, breadboard, kettle, teapot, frying pan, knives, can opener, serving utensils, packet of pegs, torch, pots, vegetable peeler, cutlery, crockery, and sleeping equipment.
- Kruse Commentay System - 3 - 6 Days: NZ$10.00, 7+ Days: NZ$8.00
- Snow Chains - Free of charge
- 1x Personal Kit per person - NZ$35.00 per person per rental (Included in this pack are 1 of each of the following: towel, pillow, pillow case, sleeping bag, bed sheet, and tea towel.
- Pre-purchase Fuel - This option allows the hirer to buy their first tank of fuel upon collection of the vehicle, at a discounted rate, so you don't have to refill the vehicle prior to returning to the branch. (Save up to 5% on street fuel prices).
- Pre-purchase Gas - This value added option ordinarily allows the hirer to buy their first tank of LPG at a discounted rate, thereby avoiding the need to replenish the gas bottle prior to drop-off. The re-fill rate (which applies when you neither purchase the PGO option nor return the motorhome with a full tank of gas) is NZ$15.00 (HiTop) and NZ$25.00 (Elite, Explorer and Frontier).
- Extra Drivers Fees - NZ$3.00 per day, per additional driver (maximum charge NZ$150)
One-way rentals are available between all branch locations. A one-way rental fee of NZ$220.00 is charged for rentals between North and South Island (and vice versa), where pick-up is between 1 October 2006 and 31 March 2007.
All motorhomes come ready for hire with a full tank of diesel, and a full tank of LPG. Please refer to the Additional Hire Items for information on how to save money on your first tank of diesel and LPG. Diesel in New Zealand is priced at approximately NZ$0.75 per litre.
All motorhome hires are subjet to a diesel tax recovery fee. This is normally calculated and collected on the return of your vehicle and is based on the kilometres travelled during your hire.

Pick up and Drop off fees
There will be an additional collection/return fee for pick ups and drop offs at the Wellington and Queenstown depots.
